Dr. Afsari gave a talk at the Drone Camp arranged by the Virginia Tech Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership and Virginia Tech Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED) which is attended by middle school students who learned to build and fly drones. About 60 incoming engineering students visited different labs in the MLSOC, including the ARCADE lab. Dr. Afsari and Ph.D. student Srijeet Halder showcased practical applications of robots in construction. They engaged the participants with interactive and enjoyable robotic activities, making the learning experience both informative and entertaining.
Srijeet Halder presented his research on hand gesture control of robot arms at the International Conference on Computing in Civil Engineering at Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon.

Dr. Afsari presented a quadruped robot demonstration session on November 29th, 2022, to Robotic Team 401 that included robot training and discussions on how quadruped robots can assist with construction progress monitoring to promote STEM education in local schools.
